 Data Conversion and File Reformatting Data conversion involves converting all the lists into a standard layout structure…creating a master list with a unique key to identify every record back to its original input list. The key to this step is ensuring that all output records have the same structure, regardless of what information is contained in the input record.
File reformatting involves converting a file to/from differing formats. Most common reformats are CSV, TXT, DAT, DBF, and XLS.

Nth Selects/Deletes
Nth select is the process of random selection of a certain number of records from one file. If you have four different pieces to send out, for example, you would want to split your lists into four different files. To get an accurate representation of the pull of differing mailers, you want to send them to addresses throughout your list.

Merge Purge (Deduping)
When a number of lists are combined for one mailing, there’s a strong possibility duplicates will occur. No one wants to mail the information twice (or more) to the same person. Merge Purge is the process of determining duplicate records between all lists as well as within each list, based on match criteria and list priority.
